FAITH, HEALING AND TRUTH
믿음, 치유, 진실
In all the places where Jmmanuel went the infirm followed, many blind people came for word of his healing had gone far and wide. Thus as they traveled into Jericho, there were many blind ones in the crowds.
임마누엘이 간 곳에는 모두 병약한 자들이 따라왔으며, 여러 지역에서 출발한 많은 맹인들이 그의 치유의 말씀을 듣고자 왔습니다. 그래서 그들(임마누엘 일행)이 여리고(옛 팔레스타인 지방에 있었던 도시)에 여행했을traveled into Jericho 때는, 군중 속에 많은 맹인들이 있었습니다.
As Jmmanuel and his disciples entered into the city, two blind persons sat by the wayside; and when they heard Jmmanuel passing by, they screamed and said, "Oh Lord, son of a Celestial Son, have mercy on us." But the people threatened them so that they would be silent. But they implored even louder and pleaded, "Oh Lord, son of a Celestial Son, have mercy on us."

Jmmanuel stopped and stood still, then called to them, and said, "What do you want me to do for you?"

They responded and said, "Lord, that our eyes be opened and we can see the beauty of this world."

Jmmanuel had pity for them and asked, "What do you believe, whose power is it which can make you see?"
임마누엘은 그들을 애석하게 여겨 물었습니다. “그대들은 무엇을 믿소, 그대들을 눈 뜨게 하는 것은 누구의 힘이오?”
They said, "The power of The Creation which is in the Laws."
그들은 말했습니다. “법칙 속에 존재하는 창조의 힘이나이다.”
Jmmanuel was astonished and said, "Verily, so far I have never seen such faith and knowledge among these people. Be it done to you as you believe." And he touched their eyes and soon they had vision and got up and followed him.
임마누엘은 놀라 말했습니다. “진실로, 지금까지 이 사람들 중에서 이러한 믿음과 지식을 결코 본 적이 없소이다. 그대들이 믿는 대로 그대들에게 그 일이 이루어질지어다.” 그리고 그가 그들의 눈을 만지자 곧 그들은 앞을 보았고 일어나 그를 따랐습니다.

As they traveled along on their way, Jmmanuel taught the people most candidly, saying, "Verily, verily I say to you, if you are knowledgeable in spirit and embrace wisdom, and if you have faith in the truth and do not doubt, you will not only do such things with blind eyes, but when you say to the fig tree it should dry up, then it will dry up, or, when you say to the mountain 'lift you up and throw me into the sea', it will come to pass, for you are knowledgeable in the truth of wisdom, so that your spirit will become totally powerful. When you are knowledgeable and live in the truth of wisdom, your spirit will be filled with infinite power. And then, everything that you command or ask for in prayer, when you believe it, you will receive.
그들이 길을 따라 여행하면서, 임마누엘은 가장 거리낌 없이 사람들을 가르쳤습니다. “진실로, 진실로 그대들에게 말합니다. 여러분이 영적으로 지식이 있어 지혜를 받아들인다면, 또 여러분이 진실 속에서 믿음을 갖고 의심하지 않는다면, 여러분은 이러한 먼 눈을 뜨게 할 뿐만 아니라, 무화과 나무더러 말라버려라 하면 말라버릴 것이며, 혹은, 여러분이 산을 향하여 ‘자신을 들어 올려서 바다로 던져라’ 하면, 그것이 실현될 것이오come to pass. 여러분이 지혜의 진실 속에서 지식이 있기 때문이오. 그리하여 여러분의 영spirit은 완전히 힘을 갖게 될 것이오. 여러분이 (영적인) 지식이 있어 지혜의 진실 속에서 살면, 여러분의 영spirit은 한량없는 힘으로 채워질 것이오. 그리고 그때, 여러분이 기도로 주문하고 요청하는 모든 것이, 여러분이 그것(영spirit의 한없는 힘)을 믿을 때, 여러분은 받게 될 것이오.
"Do not believe, however, that prayer is necessary, for you will also receive without prayer if your spirit is trained through wisdom. Do not make the mistake and believe in the false teachings that man has a will, for this belief is incorrect. Know then, whatever man wants to attempt he is obligated at all times to first create a will for this or that, because this is the Law of Nature. Thus man determines the course of his life which is called 'fate'. But it is such that he must acquire the knowledge and learn wisdom, so that from this he creates a will which is then within the Law of Nature.
“그렇다 하더라도, 기도가 필수라고 믿지 마시오. 여러분의 영spirit이 지혜를 통하여 수련되어 있다면 또한 기도하지 않고도 (요청하는 것들을) 받을 것이오. 사람이 의도를 갖고 있는 거짓된 가르침 속에서 잘못 생각하고 믿어서는 안 됩니다. 사람이 꾀하려 하는 것은 무엇이든지, 항상 먼저 이런 저런 것에 대한 의지부터 만들어내야 하오. 이것이 자연의 법칙Law of Nature이오. 이렇게 사람은 소위 ‘운명’이라 하는 자신의 생애의 여정을 결정하고 있소이다. 다만 (여정이라는 것이) 그가 지식을 습득하고 지혜를 배우는 것과 같으며, 그 다음 그로부터 사람은 자연의 법칙Law of Nature 안에 존재하는 의지를 만드는 것이오.
"Consider yourselves as people who live in order to learn and to perfect the spirit. For you are born for the obligation of becoming perfect in spirit. Do not worry about the future, when the false teaching is spread, that man would have to perfect himself in spirit another time because he has fallen away from The Creation.
“여러분 자신을 배워서 영spirit을 완전하게 하기 위하여 살고 있다 생각하시오. 여러분은 영적으로 완전하게 되는 의무를 갖고 태어났기 때문이오. 거짓된 가르침이 퍼져 있는 때에, 사람이 창조The Creation로부터 떨어져 있음으로 인해 또 다른 시기에 자신을 영적으로 완전하게 해야 할 미래에 대하여 염려하지 마시오.
BEWARE FALSE TEACHINGS
거짓된 가르침을 주의하라
"Each spirit in man is a unit, so is The Creation in itself a UNIT, and has no other powers besides IT. In Itself, The Creation is pure Spirit and therefore is infinite power, for it is One with Itself, and nothing exists outside of IT. Therefore, beware of the false and adulterated teachings of the future, which will insult me by calling me the Son of The Creation, and also as the Son of God. For these teachings lead to lies, and because of them the world will suffer much want and distress.
“사람의 내면에 있는 각각의 영spirit은 한 단위이며, 마찬가지로 창조The Creation는 자체의 내면에서 한 단위UNIT이오. 그리고 그것IT 외에 다른 힘은 없소이다. 자신의 내면에서, 창조The Creation는 순수한 영Spirit이며 따라서 힘은 무한하오. 그것이 스스로 하나One이며, 그것IT 외엔 존재하는 것이 없기 때문이오. 그러므로, 거짓되고 섞음질한 미래의 가르침을 조심하시오. 그 가르침은 나를 창조의 아들the Son of The Creation이라 부르며, 또한 하나님의 아들the Son of God이라 부르며 나에게 무례한 짓을 할insult 것이오. 그 가르침은 거짓말로 인도하기 때문이며, 또 그들로 인하여 세계는 많은 곤궁want과 고통distress을 당할 것이오.
"Do not pay heed to the false teachings of the future, which are trying to make into one, the spirit, The Creation, and Me, and making a Trinity thereof, which again shall be a unit. Beware of these false and adulterated teachings of the future, for a Trinity is impossible according to the logical Laws of The Creation, there is only ONE.
"미래의 거짓된 가르침은 무시하시오. 그 가르침은 영the Spirit과 창조The Creation, 그리고 나Me를 하나로 만들려고 하오. 그것으로부터 삼위일체Trinty를 만들어서, 다시 한 단위unit가 될 것이오. 이 거짓되고 섞음질한adulterated(≑편집한) 미래의 가르침들을 경계하시오. 삼위일체Trinty는 필연적인 창조의 법칙the Laws of The Creation에 따라 불가능하오이다. 오직 하나ONE만 존재하오.
"Verily I say to you, the princes keep their people down, and the sovereigns do violence unto them, but when they use violence, the new cults will do violence when they adulterate my teachings and proceed to disperse them.
“진실로 그대들에게 말합니다. 군주들은 그들의 국민을 억압하고keep down, 또 지배자들은 국민에게 폭력을 행사하고 있소. 오직 그들이 폭력을 행사할 때, 새로운 종파들은 나의 가르침을 섞음질하여adulterate 사람들에게 계속 퍼뜨리기disperse 위해 폭력을 행사할 것이오.
"Beware of them and do not carry the yoke of the false teachings because of force. It shall not be so among you, but you shall be great and teach the wisdom. As I have come to teach the wisdom and knowledge among the people, so you shall continue to teach, so the truth may penetrate."
“그들을 경계하시오. 그리고 폭력 때문에 거짓된 가르침의 멍에를 지지 마시오.
그대들 중에는 그렇지 않을 것이나, 다만 열중하여great 지혜를 가르치시오. 내가 사람들 속에서 지혜와 지식을 가르치러 왔으므로, 그대들도 그렇게 가르치기를 계속하여야 하오. 그러면 진실이 사람들의 마음을 감동시킬penetrate 것이오.

INTO JERUSALEM ON THE DONKEY
당나귀를 타고 예루살렘으로
When they came near Jerusalem, to Bethpage, near the Mount of Olives, Jmmanuel sent out two of his disciples and said to them, "Go to the place which lies before you and you will find a female donkey tied to a post and a foal with her; untie her and bring her to me, for she was a gift to me and is only encamped there. And if anyone asks you a question as to why you are taking the animal, say to them, 'Jmmanuel of Nazareth needs her.' Soon they will let you take her."
그들이 올리브산(감람산/임마누엘이 승천 한 곳) 가까이에 있는, 예루살렘 근처 벳바게에 왔을 때, 임마누엘은 제자 중 두 사람을 내보내며 그들에게 말했습니다. “그대 앞에 뻗어 있는 길을 가면, 말뚝에 매여 있는 어미 당나귀와 그 새끼를 볼 것이니; 어미 당나귀를 풀어 나에게 몰고 오시오. 그 어미 당나귀는 나에게 온 선물로 단지 거기에 매여 있을 뿐이오. 만일 어떤 사람이 그대에게 왜 당나귀를 갖고 가느냐고 물으면, 그들에게 말하시오. ‘나사렛의 임마누엘이 이 당나귀를 필요로 하오.’ 그들은 바로 그대들에게 그 어미 당나귀를 갖게 가게 할 것이오.”
The disciples went forth and did as instructed, and they returned with the female donkey and the foal and they put their clothes on its back and Jmmanuel sat thereon.
제자들은 가서 (임마누엘이) 시키는 대로 하여, 그 어미 당나귀와 새끼를 몰고 돌아 왔으며, 그들은 자신들의 옷가지들을 당나귀 등에 얹었고 임마누엘은 그 위에 걸터앉았습니다.
When the people heard that Jmmanuel, the king of wisdom would come, they spread their clothes on the path, and others cut off branches from the trees and spread them out on the path.
사람들이 지혜의 왕, 임마누엘이 온다는 소식을 듣고, 그들은 길바닥에 자신들의 옷가지들을 깔았으며, 다른 사람들은 나무 가지를 꺾어 길 바깥에 깔았습니다.
The people who went ahead of him and those who followed him screamed and said, "Hail to the descendants of David. Praise to him who comes and publicizes the new teaching."
임마누엘의 앞에 가는 사람들과 뒤를 따르는 사람들은 소리치며 말했습니다. “다윗David의 자손들에게 인사하시오. 새 가르침을 펴고자 오시는 이를 찬양하시오.”

When they entered into Jerusalem, the whole city was excited and said, "Who is it that comes?" But the people said, "That is Jmmanuel, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee who brings a new teaching of wisdom."
그들이 예루살렘으로 들어갔을 때, 도시 전체가 흥분하여 말했습니다. “오는 이가 누구이오?” 사람들은 다만, “새로운 지혜의 가르침을 갖고 오는 갈릴리 나사렛의 예언자, 임마누엘이시오.”라고 말할 뿐이었습니다.

PURGING OF THE TEMPLE
성전의 정화
In Jerusalem, Jmmanuel went into the temple and when he saw what was taking place be became furious. There were dealers, sales people, merchants dealing with doves and many money changers who had established themselves therein.
예루살렘에서, 임마누엘께서 성전으로 들어갔을 때 격노할 일이 벌어지고 있음을 보았습니다. 성전에는 상인들, 장사꾼들, 비둘기 장사하는 무역 상인들과 그 안에서 스스로 자리 잡은 많은 환전 상인들이 있었습니다.
He shouted at them in a loud voice, "It is written: The temple is to be a place of teaching, a place of contemplation. But change it into a den for thieves."
임마누엘은 그들에게 큰 목소리로 외쳤습니다. “성전은 가르치기로 되어 있는 곳이며, 묵상contemplation하는 곳이라 기록되어 있소. 하지만 성전을 도둑들의 소굴로 만들고 있소이다.”
In his anger he kicked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of the dealers of doves and drove them all out with the whip of a donkey driver.
그는 화가 나 환전상인의 탁자와 비둘기 상인의 의자를 걷어찼고 당나귀 채찍으로 그들을 모두 밖으로 내쫓았습니다.
Then he allowed the blind and the lame to come to him in the temple and he healed them, all who came.
그 후 그는 성전에서 눈 먼 자와 다리 저는 자를 오게 하여, 그에게 온 모든 사람들을 치유하였습니다.
When the high priests and scribes saw the great deeds he accomplished and the people who were screaming in the temple saying, "Hail to the descendants of David!", they became extremely agitated.
대사제들high priests과 율법학자들은 임마누엘이 이룬 그 중대한 행위를 보고 또 성전 안에서 “다윗의 자손들을 찬양하시오!” 하며 외치는 사람들을 보고, 극도로 초조해졌습니다.
They shouted at him, "Do you hear what they are saying?" But Jmmanuel said to them, "Are you so afraid of the truth that the truth annoys you?"
그들은 임마누엘에게 소리쳤습니다. “사람들이 뭐라 하는지 듣고 있소?” 하지만 임마누엘은 그들에게 말했습니다. “그대들은 그대들을 괴롭히는annoy 그 진실에 대하여 매우 두려워하고 있소?”

He immediately left them there in the temple and left the city and went to Bethany and stayed there overnight.
임마누엘은 성전에 있는 그들을 남겨두고 도시를 떠나 베다니Bethany로 가서 하룻밤을 머물렀습니다.
BY WHOSE AUTHORITY?
누구의 권한으로?
When Jmmanuel again came into the temple and taught, the high priests, scribes, and the elders of the people came to him and asked, "With what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you the power?"
임마누엘께서 성전에 다시 들어가 가르치고 있을 때, 대사제들, 율법학자들, 그리고 나이 든 사람들이 그에게 와서 물었습니다. “어떤 권한으로 이런 일들을 하고 있소? 그리고 누가 그대에게 그 능력을 주었소?”
Jmmanuel angrily responded, "I, too, want to ask you a word, and if you answer that question, I will tell you from where the power originates that allows me to do these things.
임마누엘은 화내며 응답했습니다. “나, 역시, 그대들에게 한 마디 묻겠소. 그대들이 대답하면, 나로 하여금 이러한 일들을 하게 한 능력이 어디서 왔는지 그대들에게 말할 것이오.
"From where was the baptism of John? Was it through The Creation or through people?" And they pondered the question and discussed it among themselves, "If we say it was through The Creation, then he will say, 'Then why do you not believe in it and why aren't you following the Laws?'
“세례 요한(의 능력)은 어디서 왔소? 창조The Creation를 통해서이오 아니면 사람들을 통해서이오?” 그들은 질문을 신중히 생각하고pondered 자기들끼리 그 답변을 의논했습니다. “만일 우리가 그 능력이 창조를 통해서 왔다고 말하면, 그는, ‘그러면 그대들은 왜 그것을 믿지 아니 하오 그리고 왜 그 법칙을 따르지 않소?’ 하고 말할 것이오.
"But if we say it was through men, we will have to be afraid of the people for they consider John a prophet"
“그러나 우리가 그 능력이 사람들로부터 왔다고 하면, 우리는 사람들을 두려워해야 할 것이오. 왜냐하면 그들은 요한을 예언자로 생각할 테니까요.”
THE PARABLE OF TWO SONS
두 아들에 대한 비유
So, they answered Jmmanuel, saying, "We don't know." Thereupon he said to them, "You generation of vipers, so I will not tell you by whose power I do these things. But what do you think? A man had two sons and went to the first one and said, 'My son, go and work today in the vineyard.' But he answered and said, 'Yes father, I will go.' Yet he did not go. So he went to the other son and said, 'My son, go and work today in the vineyard.' But the second son answered and said, 'I don't want to do it and therefore I will not go.' But soon afterwards he felt remorse and went into the vineyard and worked.

"Now I ask you, which of the two did the will of the father?" They said, "The latter, of course."
“자, 내가 그대들에게 묻겠는데, 두 아들 중 누가 아버지의 뜻을 행하였소?” 그들은 말했습니다. “물론, 둘째 녀석이오.”
But Jmmanuel rebuked them, "Verily, verily I say to you, the publicans and prostitutes will perceive the wisdom of knowledge before you do.
하지만 임마누엘은 그들을 꾸짖었습니다. “진실로, 진실로 그대들에게 말하리다. 세금 걷는 세리들과 매춘부들은 그대들이 깨닫기 전에 지식의 지혜를 깨달을 것이오.
"John and the prophets came to you and taught you the right way and you did not believe them; but the publicans and the prostitutes believed them. And even though you saw it, you did not repent or change your mind, so that you would have afterwards also believed the truth.
“요한과 예언자들이 그대들에게 와서 올바른 길을 가르쳤는데 그대들은 그들을 믿지 않았지만; 세리들과 매춘부들은 그들을 믿었소이다. 그리고 그대들이 이해하였다 하더라도, 그대들은 회개하거나repent 그대들의 마음을 고쳐먹지 않았소.
"You know the truth, and yet you deny it, so that you would profit thereby in terms of gold, silver and goods, and that you thereby get rich at the expense of the poor, whom ye have led astray.
"그대들은 진실을 알고 있지만, 아직도 그 진실을 부정하고 있소이다. 그리하여 그대들은 그렇게 해서 금과 은, 그리고 물품으로 환산하여 이득을 보곤 하오. 또 그대들은 그것으로 가난한 사람들을 희생시켜at the expense of 부자가 되고 있으며, 그대들은 가난한 사람들을 잘못 인도하고 있소.
